Our guests enjoy the production at Huron Country Playhouse on Saturday evening and then hear about the lives of the actors and stories surrounding the production at brunch on Sunday. They become real people when they sit at a table with our guests and find the actors willing to share about their career~ past, present and future.

Blyth Festival is a professional theatre with the mandate to produce theatre that reflects the cultures and concerns of the people of southwestern Ontario. St. Joseph and Area Historical Society presented “Narcisse” and was awarded the Governor General’s Award for Excellence in Community Programming
Joan and Pat Rowe were chosen to accept this prestigious award from the Governor General at Rideau Hall in Ottawa on behalf of the Society. The delegation included Liz Ihrig from the Society, Paul Ciufo, Playwright, Duncan McGregor, Director and Karen Stewart, Project Co-ordinator. It was an incredible experience!
Narcisse-The Play
Considered the Father of the St. Lawrence Seaway, Narcisse Cantin was a charismatic promoter and extraordinary salesman. In the early 1900s, Cantin transformed the tiny village of St. Joseph into a boomtown as he attempted to revolutionize transportation in North America. Narcisse envisioned St. Joseph blossoming into a city at one end of a mammoth canal cutting through Southwestern Ontario and connecting Lake Huron and Lake Erie.
